Welcome To My New Blog!
Well, what sort of host would I be if I didn’t take a minute to welcome you?
A bad one.
That’s what sort.
The kind of host who invites you over and then disappears into a room filled with friends while you stand there awkwardly alongside a bunch of f**king strangers, re-reading your text messages and scrolling your Facebook in a bid to look busy and hide the fact that you are fuming.
I have no plans on becoming that guy.
WHAT’S ON THE SITE?
Here’s a quick guide to what you can find on the site.
It’s pretty simple.
After all, I lift dumbbells all day.
HOW I GOT STARTED
So how does a knucklehead like me get here anyway?
Well, it was kinda by accident.
(Shhhh… don’t tell anyone…)
Back in 2011, I stayed back late at the gym I was working in as a fitness instructor at the time, and I quickly filmed a few training tips for my brother to use in his next workout while he was working elsewhere.
I stuck it on YouTube for hosting purposes, and it turns out other people began watching my stuff.
Before long, it grew into the beast that is my YouTube channel.
(That’s a plug for you to go subscribe!)
Since then, it’s been somewhat of a whirlwind as the YouTube page eventually grew into the website, and the website led to working with supplement companies like H2N Nutrition and Optimum Nutrition, and then being featured in the likes of Men’s Fitness, Women’s Health, and hitting the cover of Personal Trainer magazine.
Fast forward to writing this very article at the re-designing of my blog here in July 2018, and I’m lucky enough to be able to say that over 100,000 people have used my online workout plans so far, and I continue to do what I love for a job (personal training!).
WHAT’S TO COME ON THE BLOG?
If you’ve been a follower on my social media (plug!) you’ll already know me for my “NO BS!” style of teaching.
I hate the blandness of the fitness industry.
I’m quite happy to be the voice of reason in a world of inflated ego’s (I have an almost-teenager who tells me I’m not cool all the time, so I don’t give a f**k).
I’ll blog about my experiences personal training at the excellent facility that is Powerhouse Gym South Shields, and I’ll share some useful tips I give my clients during those grueling workouts.
You’ll also get my straight-to-the-point workout tips (the same tips that have helped countless other men and women get in their best shape), deliberately harsh reviews on the latest sports supplements (I’ll show you what actually works, and rip apart what doesn’t), and plenty of humor along the way because I’ve seen enough bulls**t to know not to take life too seriously.
Are you in?
Yours in training,
