Well, what kind of host would I be if I didn’t take a moment to welcome you to the website?
I’ll tell you what kind…
A bad one…
The kind of host who invites you somewhere then disappears into a room filled with their friends while you stand there among a bunch of strangers feeling awkward as f**k.
I have no intentions of being “that guy”.

So how does a knucklehead like me get here anyway?
Well, it wasn’t pretty.
My journey with weights began way back when I was a 9 year old kid…
My hip crumbled due to a condition known as Perthes. The bone literally died and fell apart. As a result, I had a lot of strength work to do if I ever wanted to walk again.
After years of traction, crutches, wheelchairs, and more squats than even the most hardened Insta-chick could do, I was back to full strength.
It wasn’t until my late teens that I started training for real and, of course, I did absolutely everything wrong (!!).
I’d spend hours in the gym. I’d do every exercise I could think of. I’d buy all the supplements in the bodybuilding magazines (not realizing that those guys were taking a few special ones they weren’t mentioning!). And I made every mistake in the book.
After working my a** off to learn the science behind proper training and nutrition for natural athletes, I began achieving results and finally built the type of body I’d hoped for my entire life.
(I’d always wanted to be as close to Sylvester Stallone’s excellent Rocky IV shape as I could get, without taking anything from a syringe to do so.)
I discovered I kinda loved the science behind training, and I turned my attention to becoming a personal trainer so I could help other men and women build their best bodies without going through the mess that I endured.
Back in 2011, I uploaded a couple of videos online and the beast that is my YouTube channel was born.
(That’s a not-so-subtle hint. Go subscribe!)
Since then I’ve been on a rather odd roller coaster which has seen the continued growth of that channel as well as this website and it’s accompanying social media pages, and led to opportunities to work with awesome companies like H2N Nutrition and Optimum Nutrition, as well as being featured in some of the magazines I used to read back when I was starting out in the weights room.
What’s To Come?
I hate the fakeness and blandness of the fitness industry.I’
I’m very happy to be a voice of sanity in a world gone mad with inflated egos and outdated broscience.
I’ll write about my experiences inside the gym, where I run personal training sessions at the mighty Powerhouse Gym South Shields, and I’ll share the useful training tips I give my clients during those grueling workouts.
You’ll also be able to access my deliberately harsh supplement reviews (I’ll tell you exactly what works, as well as what doesn’t and why), and all of my online training systems right here on the website.
Right, enough of this friendly bulls**t, we’ve got some weights to lift!
Yours in training,
