I know they say, “Don’t meet your heroes” but that’s bullshit.
Back when I met Carl Weathers (a.k.a. Apollo Fucking Creed!) he was everything I expected him to be and more; cool, measured, and inspirational.
If I could’ve gone back in time and told the 13-year old version of myself who used to obsess over the Rocky movies that “The Master Of Disaster” is genuinely a nice guy, it would’ve made my day.

Anyway, I was fortunate enough to have a similar experience in the latter stages of 2024, when supplement brand Cellucor reached out to me with an e-mail about a potential partnership.
I used many of their supplements when I was just building my reputation as a PT in the 2000s and 2010s, and always considered them to be among the fitness industry’s “premium” manufacturers (e.g. Cellucor, Optimum, Reflex, Gaspari, etc), so I jumped at the chance to make it official.
Heck, I can still remember buying copies of Joe Weider’s Muscle & Fitness Magazine to pass the time during my gym shift and reading those beautiful full-page Cellucor advertisements.
Founded all the way back in 2002, Cellucor initially bottled and sold its supplements from a humble duplex located in College Station, Texas.
After several years trialling their products with local athletes and established a reputation for their work, they landed a partnership deal with health giants GNC. They wasted no time in grabbing the opportunity to impress the huge audience GNC had given them access to, launching one of the world’s best-selling pre-workout supplements of all time (the legendary Cellucor C4).
They have added many more products to their line-up in the years since then (whey protein, BCAAs, creatine, energy drinks, etc), and the brand has become established around the world for its ultra-professional, glossy finish.
From a business standpoint this gives me an easy way to re-direct my website readers towards very high quality supplements all from one place, instead of sourcing different products from multiple manufacturers, making it significantly easier for readers who follow my recommended supplement stack, because Cellucor’s supplement subscription option means they can just top up your supplements each month in one delivery containing everything you want.
